Janette Garbuio

I was excited and excelled in art. My personal development commenced with June Barnett in 1978 – 1980 at Ferntree Gully Hut and Sue Hall at Sherbrooke Art Society in 1983 – 85 until I approached Dandenong Tafe to commence my Fine Art Degree in 1988 and finalized it in 1990 where I was introduced to other mediums.

During the years I had some wonderful mediators such as David Taylor, Walter Magilton ,Ann Randles, David Moore, Shirley Bourne ,Barbara McCallum and Malcolm Beattie.

Due to my love of drawing I was invited to exhibition in Budrio-Bologna Italy 2005- “The Dreams of the Immigrates – Arte senza confine”

I wanted to travel and personally view the fine arts in other countries and culture so I started Paesano Tours for artists to have the opportunity to paint and understand the culture of Italy commencing 2006 and then annually presently organizing 2014

During the years of learning and studying Art I have wished to follow my desire to develop in all areas such as oil , pastel, drawing and watercolour in order to gain a full meaning of art.

Over the years I have won numerous awards for fine drawings and oil paintings such as

Artist of the year Maroondan Shire – Highly Commended 2010 , Warrandyte Art Show 2002, Artist of the year B Section Sherbrooke – 2006 & Ringwood Section B – 2007 Begrave Art Show 2001 and Ringwood Society 2001 and others.

I have organized main artist events such as the Streeton, Roberts and McCubbins Art Exhibition and A Taste of Italy exhibitions and , Eltham Watercolour Exhibition.

Commenced teaching drawing and painting for two years in 2011 and I have enjoyed inspiring others in the excitement of developing their artist skills..

My personal ambition is to create visual impact that will not diminish with age and explore all the mediums available to enhance my art. I have a passion and the love of impression which has been enhanced by painting “plein air” and studio studies.
