Jennifer Scott

Jennifer Scott was born in Wangaratta, Victoria in July 1953. She had no formal art training apart from Year 11 Art at which she excelled.

She decided, however to follow the Sciences and completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Botany and Zoology from Monash University in 1975. She then worked as a biological illustrator for C.S.I.R.O. in 1976.

From there she went on to gain a Diploma of teaching in 1978, and is presently working part-time as a Biology teacher in a Christian School in Melbourne’s East.

She began painting Wildlife seriously in 1987 and exhibited regularly at many of Victoria’s Art shows including the Camberwell Rotary and the Australian Wildlife Artist’s Society Exhibitions. She has won a number of first Prizes in various Art Shows throughout Victoria, and has illustrated a book cover and a cassette cover.

She paints mainly in watercolor and has produced, and is currently selling a beautiful illustrated Birthday Calendar.

She has had a gap of 20 years from serious painting, where she worked as a teacher and raised her family of three children. 2012 represents the resumption of her career as a Wildlife Artist.

Her major interests include Wildlife photography, Bird Observing, Botany and Entomology, swimming and reading.

Jennifer is also a committed Christian and endeavors to use her gift of painting to reveal God’s wonderful Creation to others.
